Designing a crossover network, even if you have the specification sheets on every component is not easy. It requires that I have the COMPLETE speaker, in the cabinet, for testing. Here is a Klipsch forum thread describing the development of the network for the Klipsh Forte I. It should show you what is involved. The Crites crossovers are fine and based on the original Klipsch crossover desings but with upgraded components. The ALK crossovers are an entirely different design by Albert Klappenberger. Which is better is a matter of preference.
Here are some examples of our new custom built crossovers for Klipsch speakers.

Forte I, Forte II, Quartet, Chorus I, Chorus II, Heresy II, Cornwall II, KG Series, KLF Series, Academy, and KLF-C7. In all of these cases, you will need to remove the old crossovers (usually from the back of the input terminal cup) and install the new crossovers in a new location.
KLIPSCHORN, LaSCALA and BELLE KLIPSCH
The refind binary file is missing aborting installation directory. This first one is the Type A. Used in the Klipschorn, LaScala and Belle Klipsch speakers from sometime in the 1960s to about 1971. It is a very simple network and many prefer it even in later model speakers.
Next, we have the Type AA crossover. This one was used in the Khorn, LaScala and Belle Klipsch from around 1971 to about 1982. The circuit is similar to the type A as far as the midrange and woofer is concerned, but adds tweeter protection to protect the very delicate K-77 tweeter.
In around 1983, we have the crossovers for the Klipschorn, LaScala, and Belle Klipsch becoming separate designs. We have the AK for the Klipschorn, the AL for the LaScala and the AB for the Belle Klipsch. At that point also, the Klipschorn crossover became a two section crossover with the woofer section mounted inside the woofer door. We do not build the AK, AL, or AB crossovers since they are generally considered to be 'not the best'. By around 1989, the design of these crossovers had changed (evolved) to the AK-3, AL-3 and AB-2 crossovers. We do build those.

Here is a picture of our AK-3 crossover for the Klipschorn. We recommend that the AK or AK-2 crossovers be replaced with the AK-3, Type AA or Type A/4500.
Here is a picture of our Type AB-2 crossover for the Belle Klipsch. We recommend that the type AB used in the Belle be replaced with our Type AB-2 or Type AA or Type A/4500.
Another option for replacing the type AA (LaScala, Belle and Klipschorn crossovers), AL, AL-2, AL-3 (LaScala crossovers), the AK, AK-2, AK-3 (Klipschorn crossovers) and the AB or AB-2 (Belle Crossovers) is our special Type A/4500 crossovers. More info about these crossovers here:
KLIPSCH CORNWALL
For the Klipsch Cornwall, we build the Type B crossover used until around 1982 and also the Type B-2 and B-3 used from about 1982 until the end of the Cornwall I production in 1985.
This is the B & K Type B
B & K Type B-2
B&K Type B-3
We also build a replacement crossover for the Cornwall II. Early Cornwall IIs had a crossover on a board like the older Cornwall I did. Later ones had the crossover on the back of the input terminals. Our crossover will replace either type, but in both cases, you would need to make up new driver and input wires to connect to our crossover. Our crossover uses a terminal strip where the originals do not.

KLIPSCH HERESY AND INDUSTRIAL HERESY
We build the Type E and E-2 for the Heresy I. The Type E was used until around 1982 and the E-2 was then used until end of production of the Heresy I in 1985.

Alk Or Crites Crossovers Forte For Sale
The Heresy II was made after 1985. We also build the crossover for the Heresy II. The original crossover for the Heresy II is on the back of the input terminal. Our crossover is to be mounted in the bottom of the cabinet. The original crossover is then removed from the input terminal cup and new driver and input wires are run to the terminal strip on the new crossover.
This same procedure would apply to all the crossovers shown below on this page. They are all replacing crossovers that were originally built on the back of the input terminal cups.
