Mechanical vibration - Evaluation of machine vibration by measurements on non-rotating parts – Part 1: General guidelines The International Standard ISO 10816-1:1995 has the status of a Swedish Standard. This document contains the official English version of ISO 10816-1: 1995. Swedish Standards corresponding to documents re. † Early ISO vibration severity standards, ISO/2372, ISO 2954, and ISO 3945 “Mechani cal vibration of large rotating machines with speed range from 10 to 200 r/s – Measurement and evaluation of vibration severity in situ”, have been superseded by the ISO 7919 and 10816 series.

Class II: Medium size (15kW to 75kW) machines without special foundations, or machines up to 300kW rigidly mounted on special foundations. Class III: Large rotating machines rigidly mounted on foundations which are stiff in the direction of vibration measurement. Class IV: Large rotating machines mounted on foundations which are flexible in the direction of vibration measurement.
